Matt writes - I split my time between Emma Carroll Etc. and working for a documentary film company here in Chicago. My main focus at the moment is organizing an event for Kartemquin. The event is to mark the 15th Anniversary of my favorite documentary, Hoop Dreams. It is a must see if you haven't watched it, or a must see again if it has been an age since you saw it last!

Kartemquin are just the best documentary makers out there, it is a family of award winning filmmakers, based in Chicago, who have been making docs for over 40 years! Check out their website - www.kartemquin.com

The event is going to be held at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago and will raise funds for future social issue documentary projects fostered here at Kartemquin.

It's cool becuase the characters from the film will be attending along with the filmmakers, as will Alex Kotlowitz, author of the awesome There Are No Children Here! Read it!!!
